Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best known for portraying detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she won the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known as the character Detective Diane Russell on the ABC series NYPD Blue. Also, she was a part of the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was born the only girl from her mom who was a homemaker as well as a high-ranking executive of the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood in the company of four brothers. As a young girl, she wanted to become a reporter for the court. In highschool, when she started modeling commercials, she moved to New York. In her teens her first appearance as an actress was in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Since then, Delaney has appeared in numerous TV dramas and films. While she has a career success, her private life isn't as content and successful. In the past, this talented actress struggled to overcome addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to fail. She lost custody of her son in the year 2005.
