Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 also known professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female signing to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. This was when she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded songs online in the year 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013, five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued to upload her tracks online through 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. On July 21 2015 Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. Later that year her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville team, as J.
